Called to be children of Christ

The way I see calling is as simple as this: a pull/need towards a specific way of life. On Monday P. Paul and Ingrid discussed how we are called to walk as disciples and to make them, our identity is where we find worth and value, and our passion is what we are willing to suffer for and what we have suffered for. I am called to be a daughter of Christ, therefore my identity is known through this calling and my passion is discovered by my identity.

My calling as a Christian in a secular world is to walk as a disciple and make them. In this secular world many are offended by Christians and their urge to convert others. I like to live out my calling by doing acts that are Christlike.

  1. What gives you motivation to keep on persisting God's calling in this world.

  2. During one of the panels I remember someone saying that doing the works of Christ should bring a feeling of Joy. Not in a sense where it is like "ooh this is so much fun" but rather "ooh I am enjoying this moment.
I guess I brought this up because God himself is the reason. When I look to God he changes my view and attitude on life.
What gives me motivation to keep persisting in my calling is that I want to show him that I love him by respecting him.
I guess you can compare this to a parent and child relationship. If a parent needs the house to be clean and asks you for that favor, a child will do that out of respect. If I don't persist in my calling then I am not "cleaning the house" which would pretty much make me a bad daughter.

  3. Hey Suzan, great blog post. Could you change the font of it to make it look like everyone elses? Also don't forget your blog title.
